Terms of Service
Key points
- TTANG TTANG Buddies is a pet app that lives on your Mac desktop. You download it free from the Mac App Store. In the app we sell item products and paw (in-app currency) packs. All paid products are one-time purchases, and prices are shown on the checkout screen (in Korea, as the total including VAT) (Prices and payment).
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple, the merchant of record (the company that takes payment, handles tax and pays refunds). Users in Korea can withdraw from a purchase within 7 days of buying it (cancel the contract within a set period after buying). However, received item products and paid paws already spent can't be withdrawn (Withdrawal and refunds).
- Paws and items are a license to use inside this app only. They can't be exchanged for cash or transferred to others. Anything received from a refunded or cancelled payment may be taken back.
- Our liability is limited to the extent the law allows. We don't limit liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.

Who can use the app
You can use the app if you are at least 13 (at least 14 in Korea; in the EEA, at least 13–16 depending on the country). If you are younger, you need permission from a parent or guardian. You can buy paid products if you are old enough to make contracts in your country or have a parent's or guardian's consent.
If a person under 19 paid without a legal guardian's consent, that person or the guardian can cancel the contract. Cancelling gets all the money back. Ask the merchant of record you paid (Withdrawal and refunds). In the Mac App Store, parental controls (Ask to Buy) can block purchases in advance.
The service
- Your pet lives on your Mac desktop (along the bottom of the screen). If you allow the Input Monitoring permission, your pet runs around, paints ground and earns paws every time you press a key. Without the permission, petting, tossing and dressing up still work.
- The app runs on macOS 13 or later. Your pet works without the internet; save backup and payments need the internet. The app is fixed and improved through Mac App Store updates.
- If something you bought doesn't match its description, you can ask where you paid to withdraw from the purchase (Withdrawal and refunds).
We may fix the app, adjust balance, or change features for security or legal reasons. These changes don't cost you anything extra. We don't compensate for balance changes (including how fast you earn paws and item prices in paws) or for changes to free features and free rewards.
Changes that are bad for you, such as making something you bought unusable, will be announced on this page 30 days in advance, and any resulting loss will be handled according to the law. We will also give 30 days' notice before ending server features (such as save backup). An app you already have keeps working on your Mac without the server.
Prices and payment
All paid products are one-time purchases. Prices are shown on the checkout screen (in Korea, as the total including VAT). In-app products are bought only with Mac App Store payment.
You are responsible for the internet access and data charges for using the service.
Paws and items
- Paws (🐾) are an in-app currency used only to buy decorations in the app. There are paid paws (bought with in-app products) and free paws (received from typing, gifts and affection rewards), shown together in one wallet.
- Free paws can't be refunded. When we count how many paid paws you have spent, we treat your free paws as spent first.
- If a payment is refunded or cancelled, we may take back the paws and items received from it. If they have already been spent, we may deduct the same amount from your other paws.
- Paws don't expire.
- Paws and items can't be exchanged for cash or another app's currency, or given or sold to others.
- Paws and items are kept in a wallet on our server. Macs using the same iCloud account share one wallet. On a Mac that doesn't use iCloud, you can bring back item products you bought with Restore Purchases.
Withdrawal and refunds
Payments and refunds are handled by the merchant of record, Apple, under its policies and procedures. Even if its terms set narrower refund conditions than these Terms, that doesn't reduce the rights the law gives you.
The withdrawal period in each country, counted from the day you buy, is:
| Country | Withdrawal |
|---|---|
| Korea | Within 7 days. For what can't be withdrawn, see "Users in Korea" below |
| European Union | Within 14 days, without giving a reason. For when you can't withdraw, see "Users in the EU, the EEA and the UK" below |
| United Kingdom | Cancel within 14 days (right to cancel). For when you can't cancel, see "Users in the EU, the EEA and the UK" below |
| Brazil | Within 7 days (direito de arrependimento). You get your money back through where you paid, by the same payment method |
| Argentina | Within 10 days (arrepentimiento) |
| Chile | Within 10 days (retracto) |
| Mexico | Within 5 business days (revocación) |
| Colombia | Within 5 business days (retracto) |
| Japan | Because these are digital products, we don't accept withdrawals or returns for the customer's own reasons. Including when a product has a problem, the merchant of record's policies and procedures apply |
| Other countries | The merchant of record's policies and procedures apply |
Users in Korea: as we tell you before payment, you can't withdraw in the cases below (Korean E-Commerce Act, Article 17(2)5 and 17(6)).
- Item products: once you have received them (including any paws that come with them). Before buying, you can briefly try friends and step effects on your desktop from the wardrobe.
- Paw packs: for paid paws you have already spent (how we count is in "Paws and items" above).
Paws bought in paw packs that you haven't spent can be withdrawn within 7 days of buying them. If a product doesn't match its description or doesn't work properly, you can withdraw within 3 months of buying (receiving) it, and within 30 days of when you found out (or could have found out).
Users in the EU, the EEA and the UK (in the UK, withdrawal is called cancelling):
- If you agreed to immediate supply on Apple's payment screen, acknowledged that you lose the right of withdrawal, and received a confirmation, you can't withdraw once supply has started (in the UK, Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg. 37). Without that consent or confirmation, you can withdraw and don't pay for what you used.
- When you withdraw, you get back everything you paid, to the payment method you used, and the paws and items from that payment are removed.
How to request:
- Mac App Store: request it at reportaproblem.apple.com. For users in the EU, the EEA and the UK this refund request is the withdrawal function, and for users in Argentina it is how you withdraw.
- If users in Korea need help with the request, email support@bang9.dev with the date of purchase and the product. We will help you with it.
What you must not do and restrictions
- Tamper with the app or its communication (modified apps, hacking), or exploit bugs
- Collect paws with automatic input programs, or send excessive requests to the server
- Copy, distribute or sell the app, its art or sounds without permission
- Use the app for unlawful purposes
If this happens, we may block your save backup or reverse rewards received.
Rights
The app's software, art, sounds and name belong to us or their original authors. We give you a personal, non-commercial right to use the app under these terms. You can't transfer this right to others. Items you buy are the same kind of license. Fonts and open-source software in the app follow their own licenses (in the app, Settings → Open source).
Limits of liability
- We run the app with care, but we don't guarantee that the app and server will always be available or free of errors.
- We aren't liable for outages or losses that aren't our fault, for example force majeure such as natural disasters, war or power cuts, outages of other companies such as carriers, stores, payment providers or hosting providers, problems with your device or internet connection, or your own fault.
- Unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence, and to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses (for example, lost profits) or data loss (for example, progress that wasn't backed up).
- For other losses, to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for this app in the last 12 months. Losses caused by outages are also handled under this clause and the law.
- We don't limit liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
- If you break these terms or the law and cause loss to us or others, you must compensate for that loss.
- Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will announce the changes and the effective date on this page at least 7 days in advance (30 days if the change is bad for you). If you don't agree with the new terms, you can stop using the app before the effective date.
These terms take effect on October 24, 2026 (version 3).
Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply.
- Ask the merchant of record first about payments and refunds; if that doesn't resolve it, or for any other dispute, let us know. Users in Korea can apply for mediation to the Content Dispute Resolution Committee (www.kcdrc.kr) or the Korea Consumer Agency (1372).
- You can go to the court that has jurisdiction under Korean civil procedure law, or to the courts where you live. Small claims can use small claims procedures.
- There is no arbitration clause.
Store and payment terms
Apple's Standard License Agreement (EULA) also applies to the app. These terms govern the app service (the pet, save backup and items), and payments follow the terms of the merchant of record.
Users in Korea
Under Article 28 of the Content Industry Promotion Act, we point out where these terms differ from the Content User Protection Guidelines.
- Refunds: the merchant of record, Apple, takes payment and pays refunds, so refunds follow Apple's refund procedure.
- Changes to the terms and ending server features: announced by posting on this page (7 days before for changes to the terms, 30 days before for changes that are bad for you and for ending server features). We don't send individual notices.
- Outages: losses caused by outages are handled under "Limits of liability" in these terms and the law. There is no preset compensation based on outage time.
Users in the European Union
- Pre-contract information: the identity and contact details of us and the merchant of record are in Who we are and business information; the main features of each product and the total price including tax are on the checkout screen. The app works on Macs with macOS 13 or later.
- Right of withdrawal: you have the right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within 14 days of buying it without giving a reason. The exceptions based on consent to immediate supply and acknowledgement of losing the right of withdrawal, and the withdrawal function, are in Withdrawal and refunds.
- Conformity: if something you bought doesn't work as described, we will repair it, reduce the price or refund it as the law requires.
Other country-specific terms
- United Kingdom: the right to cancel and its exceptions are in Withdrawal and refunds. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality and as described. If it isn't, you can get a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
- United States: California users can contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210. Copyright infringement notices go to our email (Who we are and business information).
- Japan: these terms are standard form terms under Article 548-2 of the Civil Code. They become part of your contract when you start using the app or buy a paid product. Under the Consumer Contract Act, clauses that exempt us from liability for intent or gross negligence, and clauses that unilaterally harm consumers' interests, have no effect. If we change these terms, we will publish the changes and the effective date on this page before they take effect (Civil Code Article 548-4). Seller disclosure: 特定商取引法に基づく表記.
- Brazil: nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the Consumer Protection Code (CDC). Clauses that limit rights are shown in bold in "Key points". You can take disputes to your state's consumer protection agency (Procon).
- Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia: withdrawal under each country's consumer protection law (Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law, Argentina's Law 24.240, Chile's Law 19.496, Colombia's Law 1480 of 2011) follows the periods in Withdrawal and refunds, through the refund procedure of where you paid. You can send complaints to us or to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO, Mexico), the consumer protection authority (Defensa del Consumidor, Argentina), the National Consumer Service (SERNAC, Chile) or the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC, Colombia).
